Meet Alina Preston
I immigrated from Russia to The Woodlands, TX in 2009 with my family when my father's work in the oil field brought us to America. I know what it feels like to start over in a new country, learn a new system, and build a life from the ground up. That experience is a big part of why I care so much about helping families feel confident, understood, and protected when buying or selling a home.
As a Russian-speaking real estate agent with eXp Realty, I help clients across Montgomery County and the north side of Houston navigate the American real estate process in clear, familiar language.
I also work alongside my husband, Brody Preston, a former mortgage banker and current real estate agent. Together, we bring a practical, well-rounded view of real estate — combining local market knowledge, mortgage experience, negotiation, and long-term investment thinking to help our clients make smart moves for their families.
Whether you're buying your first home, relocating, upsizing, selling, or investing, I'm here to give you honest guidance, quick communication, and a smoother experience from start to finish.
Questions Russian-Speaking Buyers Ask Most
Short, honest answers. Have a different question? Ask me directly — no pressure, no obligation.
Can a non-U.S. citizen buy a house in Texas?
Yes. Texas has no citizenship or green-card requirement for buying residential real estate. Non-citizens can purchase with cash or finance through foreign-national and ITIN loan programs. You'll need a valid passport and proof of funds; a U.S. bank account helps but isn't always required. I guide Russian-speaking buyers through every document in their own language.
I don't speak English well. Can I still buy or sell a home in Houston?
Absolutely. I handle the entire transaction in Russian: home search, negotiations, inspections, contracts and closing. I explain every document before you sign and coordinate with lenders and title companies on your behalf, so the language barrier never puts your deal — or your money — at risk.
Can I buy a home in Texas before I move to the U.S.?
Yes — remote purchases are common. I do live video tours of homes and neighborhoods, send detailed reports, and most documents are signed electronically. Closing can be completed with a power of attorney or a remote online notary, so you can arrive in Texas with the keys to your own home already waiting.
How much does it cost to hire a buyer's agent in Texas?
For most buyers, my representation costs little to nothing out of pocket: the buyer's agent commission is typically negotiated as part of the transaction and in many cases is covered by the seller's side. We discuss and agree on compensation transparently, in writing, before we start — as required by Texas law.
How much does a house cost in The Woodlands and North Houston?
As a general guide: single-family homes start around the low $200,000s in Conroe and parts of Spring; $300,000–$450,000 buys newer construction in Cypress, Tomball and Magnolia; The Woodlands typically ranges from the mid $400,000s upward. Prices change with the market — contact me for current listings in your budget.
